Creators privacy policy

The short version. Right now Game Taste Creators only collects what you type into the waitlist form. That form is processed by Formspree. We use your details to tell you when Game Taste Creators opens and to talk to you about your first campaign. We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising trackers, and you can ask us to delete your details at any time.

Who we are

Game Taste Creators is the creator campaign platform of Game Taste, where game studios fund campaigns and creators get paid for verified views. Game Taste is run by Tasture Media, a sole proprietorship based in the Netherlands. In this policy, "Game Taste", "we", "us" and "our" mean Tasture Media acting as the controller of your personal data.

This policy covers the Game Taste Creators pages on gametaste.nl (everything under /creators/) and the waitlist. It applies to studios and creators everywhere, wherever you are based.

What we collect

Waitlist sign ups

When you join the waitlist, we receive the details you enter in the form:

whether you are joining as a creator or as a studio
your name and email address
if you are a creator: the country you live in and links to your TikTok, YouTube and Instagram channels (the ones you fill in)
if you are a studio: your studio name and the Steam link of your game
that you agreed to receive emails about the launch

We do not ask for passwords, payment details or ID documents on these pages.

Channel review

If you sign up as a creator, a person on our team looks at the public videos on the channel you gave us, to see whether your gaming videos regularly get watched. We only look at what anyone can see on that platform, and we do not save copies of your videos.

Technical data

Like any website, our hosting provider records basic server logs when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the page you requested and the time of the request. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure and are deleted automatically after a short period.

Cookies

These pages do not set their own cookies and do not use advertising or cross site tracking tools. They load the Outfit font from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and shares your IP address with Google. Links to social platforms take you to services with their own privacy policies.

How the waitlist form works (Formspree)

Our waitlist form is handled by Formspree, a third party form processing service. When you press submit, your details are sent to Formspree, which stores the submission and forwards it to us by email and in its dashboard. Formspree acts as our processor: it handles your data on our behalf and only to deliver the form to us.

Formspree is based in the United States, so your submission may be stored and processed outside your own country. Where data is transferred out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. The form contains a hidden field that helps filter out spam bots. Formspree may also run its own spam checks, which can involve your IP address and browser information.

How we use your data and why

To run the waitlist. We use your details to let you know when Game Taste Creators opens, to invite you to early campaigns and to answer questions you send us. We do this because you asked us to (your consent) and because it is in our legitimate interest to build the platform with the people who signed up.
To plan early campaigns with studios. If you signed up as a studio, we may contact you to plan your first campaign, using your studio name and Steam link to prepare. This is a step you asked for before entering into an agreement with us.
To keep the site safe. We use server logs to prevent abuse and fix problems, based on our legitimate interest in a secure website.

We will not send you newsletters or marketing about anything other than Game Taste without asking first. Every email we send lets you opt out.

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We only share it with:

Formspree, to receive form submissions
our website hosting and email providers, to run the site and reply to you
authorities, if we are legally required to

We do not share a creator's details with studios, or a studio's details with creators, while the platform is in waitlist mode.

How long we keep it

We keep waitlist details until the platform opens and for up to 12 months after that, so we can invite you to set up an account. If you do not create an account in that time, we delete your waitlist entry. If you ask us to remove you earlier, we delete your details from our inbox and from Formspree.

Your rights

Wherever you are, you can ask us to:

show you the data we hold about you
correct it if it is wrong
delete it
stop using it, or limit how we use it
send you a copy in a common file format

If we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email us and we will reply within 30 days. If you are in the EU or the UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to sort things out with you first.

Age

Game Taste is meant for studios and creators who run their channels as a business. You must be at least 16 to join the waitlist. If you think someone younger has signed up, let us know and we will delete their details.

When the platform opens

Once accounts and campaigns go live, we will need more data to verify views and pay creators. We plan to work this way:

Accounts. Your login email, display name and profile details.
Connected channels. If you are a creator, you will connect your TikTok, YouTube or Instagram account through the official login of that platform. We will only request the permissions we need to read your public profile and the view counts of the videos you submit to a campaign. We will never post on your behalf or read your private messages.
Payments and payouts. Studio payments and the monthly creator payouts will be handled by Stripe. Stripe collects the identity and bank details it needs for payouts under its own privacy policy. We do not store full card or bank account numbers.

We will update this policy and let waitlist members know before any of this starts.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects you in a meaningful way, we will email you.
