New Launch Trailer Showcases All Five Playable Mechs in Combat.
January 7, 2026 – New York, USA – Vital Shell, the top-down arena shooter fusing classic fantasy and high-speed mech combat, is available now on Steam.
The launch coincides with the release of a new trailer highlighting all five playable mech shells battling waves of enemies across each of the five arena stages.
Players pilot one of five mechs “shells,” each inspired by a classic fantasy archetype: paladin, thief, wizard, hunter, and dark knight, in combat that channels the kinetic pulse of ’90s arcade shooters. Fast, relentless runs are paired with modern rogue-like progression, encouraging players to adapt and build powerful synergies.
Between waves, players select weapons, traits, and abilities, shaping a unique build. Weapons can be socketed with gems to unlock powerful resonance effects, resulting in thousands of possible combinations and ensuring no two runs are the same.
Runs take roughly 20 minutes to reach a stage boss, making Vital Shell ideal for repeat play and experimentation.
